A frameless cubicle uses thick toughened glass, usually 8 to 10 millimetres, held by hinges, clamps and a minimal channel, for the clean open look that dominates modern bathrooms. A framed cubicle uses thinner toughened glass in a slim aluminium frame, costs less, seals more easily and is more forgiving of walls that are not perfectly straight. Semi-frameless sits between the two.

Which one suits you depends on the bathroom, the walls and the budget, not just the photograph. At the site measurement we check the walls for plumb and the floor for fall, and we tell you honestly which option will fit cleanly and stay watertight.

Toughened glass cannot be cut after it is made, so the measurement is everything. That is why we measure before fabricating, and why the installer matters more than the glass.

Frequently asked questions

Frameless or framed: which should I choose?

Frameless if the bathroom is finished to a high standard, the walls are straight and tiled well, and the open look is what you want. Framed if budget is the priority, the walls are uneven or you want the most straightforward waterproofing. Semi-frameless gives most of the look with more forgiveness.

Do frameless shower cubicles leak?

Not when measured and installed properly. Leaks almost always come from poor measurement, uneven walls or wrong positioning relative to the shower head and floor fall, not from the glass.

What glass do you use?

Toughened safety glass in every enclosure. It is several times stronger than ordinary glass and, if it ever breaks, crumbles into small blunt pieces rather than shards. We never fit anything else.

How long does it take?

Fabrication follows the site measurement, and installation of a standard cubicle is usually completed in a day. We give the timeline in writing with the quote.
