A curtain wall is a non-structural envelope of aluminium mullions and transoms hung from the building frame, with glass and spandrel panels infilled between them. It carries its own weight and resists wind and weather while the structure carries the building. Smaller frontages, shopfronts and single-storey elevations often use structural glazing or framed systems instead of a full curtain wall.
